Positive Altitudes gives kids from underrepresented Milwaukee communities the freedom, confidence, and pure fun of downhill skiing, with equipment, gear, lessons, and dinner all covered.
Our mission
Organized and operating as a 501(c)(3), Positive Altitudes was established in 2021 to increase the participation of kids from underrepresented communities in the sport of downhill skiing.
Across our 2022–2026 seasons, we partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, Big Brothers Big Sisters, COA Youth & Family Center, and Sunburst Ski Resort to provide over 1,000 ski lessons to more than 250 kids. Our program provides ski rental equipment, winter gear, dinner, and lessons, so cost is never the reason a kid misses out. We look forward to our sixth season in 2027.

When you set out to start this program, I'm not sure you understood the impact it would have on these kids.
